Mediastinoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure to look inside the upper chest portion, behind the breastbone in the middle of the chest and between the lungs. A thin long and flexible tube, called mediastinoscope, is inserted through an incision made in the neck. Images sent via this tube is visible on the screen using which the surgeon can perfom the surgery.
