This procedure allows the surgeon to access the lungs, throat, heart, diaphram and aorta. Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) - A minially invasive procedure to diagnose and treat diseases inside the chest cavity. Thoracotomy - A surgical procedure to open the chest cavity.
